AP corners glory

Andhra Pradesh won gold medals in boys and girls ball badminton and girls cricket in the 50th National School Games tournaments held at Bhimavaram, according to information received here on Tuesday.
AP boys and girls won all their round-robin matches in ball badminton. The boys beat Chattisgarh 29-7, 29-26 and the girls' team, which needed to win only a game in its match against Madhya Pradesh to clinch the gold, scored a 29-13, 29-16 win.
The umpire awarded the cricket final on Sunday to AP after Madhya Pradesh left the ground disputing a decision while the host chased a victory target of 148 runs.
The scores: MP 147 for eight in 30 overs vs Andhra Pradesh 145 for six in 26.5 overs (match awarded to AP).
