S. Railway downs RDSO

NEW DELHI, FEB. 8. Southern Railway defeated Research Designs & Standards Organisation 2-0 to enter the semifinals of the 51st all-India Railway Tennis Championship at the DLTA Complex here on Tuesday.

The results (quarterfinals): Southern Railway bt South Eastern Railway 2-0 (Nitin Kirtane bt Ram Kumar 6-0, 6-1, Vijendra Lad bt Rahul Kapur 6-1, 6-10; Eastern Railway bt Chittaranjan Locomotive Works 2-0 (Siddhartha Verma bt B. Ram 6-1, 6-2, Anwar Ali bt K. R. Yadav 6-0, 6-0); Southern Railway bt RSDO 2-0 (R. Manoj Kumar bt Viji John 6-0, 6-0, T. Chandrasekaran bt Silas Minz 6-0, 6-0); Central Railway bt South Central Railway 2-1 (Aditya Medkekar lost to Mohammad Arafat 6-0, 4-6, 4-6, G. Aniket bt Jagdish 6-1, 6-1, Medkekar & Aniket bt Arafat & Surendra Naidu 6-1, 6-2).
