CPT clinches title

MANGALORE, FEB. 8. Chennai Port Trust (CPT) beat Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) 3-1 in the final of the 26th all-India major ports' tennis championships here on Tuesday.

The results: Chellaiah (CPT) bt Bhujji (VPT) 6-2, 7-5; Prabhakaran (CPT) lost to Kishore (VPT) 5-7, 5-5; Chellaiah/Prabhakaran (CPT) bt Kishore/Salim Khan (VPT) 8-5.

Veterans doubles: Kishore/Salim (VPT) bt P.C. Chacko/P.M. Sukumar (NMPT) 8-5.
