LUCKNOW, FEB. 8. The Uttar Pradesh Government has banned use of mobile phones in all education institutions up to Class VIII. The ban would also be applicable to teachers and employees of school besides the students, an official release said. A Government Order to this effect was issued yesterday. The order, signed by the Director of Basic Education, said that stringent punitive action would taken against those violating the ban. ``The use of mobile phones during school time created confusion and led to various ills among students,'' the order said. -- PTI
