Elevation ceremony

KOTTAYAM, FEB. 8. The elevation of Rev. Fr. K.U. Abraham, the bishop-elect of Malankara Mar Thoma church to `Ramban' rank will be held here on Friday, February 11.

The special mass for the occasion will commence at 7.30 a.m. at Jerusalem Church here under the leadership of Philipose Mar Chrysostum, Marthoma Metropolitan. Joseph Mar Iraneous and Zacharias Mar Theophelos, both suffragan Metropolitans, and other bishops of the church will be present on the occasion.

Bishop Thomas Samuel, of CSI Madhya Kerala diocese, will deliver the benediction. The 51-year-old Rev. Abraham was elected to bishopric at the Prathinidhi Mandalam sessions of the church held on January 11 and 12 at Thiruvalla.
