KOLLAM, FEB. 8. The district unit of the Action Council of State Employees and Teachers today held a demonstration in front of the civil station complex here to extend support to the strike notice given to the State Government by the State leadership of the council. As per the notice, the employees will resort to an indefinite strike from February 22. A meeting that followed was inaugurated by the NGO Union State secretariat member, K. Sasindran. He said that the appointment of a new wage revision commission would not settle the issue. The employees are demanding an immediate wage revision. Mr. Sasindran alleged that the Government was dilly-dallying over the issue. The meeting was presided over by the district convener of the action council, Basil Joseph. In a separate statement, the pro-NGO Sangh Federation of Employees and Teachers Organisation (FETO) today organised a demonstration and campaign meeting in front of the civil station complex in support of the indefinite strike from February 22. The meeting was inaugurated by the FETO State secretary, Varijakshan.
