By Our Staff Correspondent

MANIPAL, FEB. 8. K.P. Puthuraya, research director of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, said on Tuesday that it is education that moulds the personality of an individual.

Dr. Puthuraya was speaking as chief guest at the Graduation Day of the Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS) here. Dr. Puthuraya said it is not important how much people read or spoke, but how much they understood. If the educational system is destroyed, the foundations of a country are shaken. Prashant Tewari, Managing Director of USV Ltd., Mumbai, said the field of pharmaceutical sciences offers tremendous opportunities to graduates.

N. Udupa welcomed the gathering. H.S. Ballal, Vice- Chancellor of MAHE; S. Gurumadhva Rao, Registrar of MAHE; and Narayan Rao and K.N. Shanbhag were present.
