Award for research on fertilizer usage

TIRUCHI, FEB. 8 . An Assistant Professor of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry of the Tamil Nadu Agriculture University's Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute at Kumulur near Tiruchi, P.Balasubramaniam, has been conferred the silver jubilee award 2004 for outstanding doctoral research on fertilizer usage by the Fertilizer Association of India.

Dr.Balasubramaniam, who completed his doctoral studies at the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai, has been conferred the award for his outstanding work on the Utilisation of Rice Straw as a Source of Silicon and Potassium for Lowland Rice, according to a release from the college Dean, CT.Devadas.
