HYDERABAD, FEB. 8. It is festive time for Iranians in the city. The 26th anniversary of Islamic revolution in their country calls for celebrations. Most of the Iranians made a beeline to the Consulate General here on Tuesday to celebrate the event. The sprawling lawns of the Consulate General on Banjara Hills were decked up for the occasion. Revolutionary songs in Persian "Inqilabe khursheed ast ... " filled the air. Husain Ravesh, Consul-General, hosted a dinner to some of the invited Iranians, Zorastrians and students. The Minister for Minorities' Welfare, Mohd. Fareeduddin, was the chief guest. Moulana Raza Aga, general secretary, All-India Shia Muslim Personal Law Board, spoke about the revolution brought about by Ayatollah Khomeini. The guests were treated to a documentary film depicting the technological advancement made by Iran over the years. Later, prizes were given away to winners of an essay writing competition on Indo-Iran relationship.
