Clear sky forecast

The sky will be mainly clear with the minimum temperature likely to be around 17 degree Celsius on Wednesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were 30.8 degree Celsius and 16.5 degree Celsius while the relative humidity was pegged at 27 per cent.

ANGRAU bags prize

The Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Rajendranagar, has bagged the second position in the All-India Combined Competitive Exam for Indian Council of Agricultural Research's (ICAR) junior research fellowship and admission to the master's degree programmes of deemed universities, Central agricultural universities and State agricultural universities for the year 2004. The ANGRAU Vice-Chancellor, S. Raghu Vardhan Reddy, received the award from the Union Minister for Agriculture, Sharad Pawar, in Mumbai recently, according to a press release.

SISI training programme

The Small Industries Service Institute and Bajaj Auto Limited will jointly conduct a month-long training programme in two-stroke/four-stroke two-wheelers servicing on the institute premises from February 21. Facility for pensioners

Defence pensioners visiting the Defence Pension Disbursing Office (DPDO), Secunderabad, for annual identification purpose can now avail of the option of visiting their banks, where they have their pension accounts for obtaining life certificate from the bank. However, pensioners willing to visit the DPDO for annual identification and other enquiries can continue to use the option, according to an official release.

NIMS programme

The Department of Nephrology at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences will organise a free public awareness and education programme on `kidney - its functions, disease and management' on February 12 from 3 p.m. onwards. The one-hour programme, to be held at the Learning Centre of NIMS, will be followed by a question and answer session.

Cookery classes

Bromark, promoters of chicken delicacies, will conduct chicken cookery classes in the city from February 14 under the guidance of eminent chefs. Interested persons can contact 98497 43526 or 98492 19870 for registration, according to a press release.
