GP polls will determine party's strength: Poojary

By Our Special Correspondent

SHIMOGA, FEB. 8. The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president, B. Janardhana Poojary, on Tuesday called upon party leaders to work for the success of the candidates backed by the Congress, since the party's strength in the future elections would be determined by the coming gram panchayat elections.

Addressing the party workers here in the run up to the gram panchayat elections in Shimoga district, slated for February 25, he said there were about 80,000 elected posts in the State at different levels of which about 80 per cent were held by the Congress. The party workers should ensure that the number of posts held by the party does not come down, the KPCC President added.
