S. Chandra is new chief of Economic Intelligence Bureau

NEW DELHI, FEB. 8. S. Chandra has taken over as Special Secretary and Director-General of the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau on promotion from his earlier posting as Member, Central Board of Excise and Customs.

Mr. Chandra, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (1968 batch) has worked in various capacities throughout the country. He has wide experience in departments such as the Customs, Central Excise, Narcotics and Revenue Intelligence, a Finance Ministry statement said.
