LogicaCMG's recruitment drive

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, FEB. 10. LogicaCMG, the global IT services company, today announced that it would recruit over 1,000 staff in India this year to support its growth plans for its offshore and South Asia operations. It also announced plans to invest in new infrastructure during 2005.

According to Martin Read, Group Chief Executive, LogicaCMG, the company inaugurated today its state-of-the-art campus-style facility located at the Technopolis close to Bangalore International Airport. This at present accommodates around 1,200 LogicaCMG employees and will house around 2,200 employees by the end of this year.

The company's outsourcing business represented about a quarter of group revenues in 2004 and it plans to increase this to 30 per cent during 2005.

The company is focussing on implementing its RTGS-readiness and anti-money laundering solutions across all the major private and public sector banks in India. In the telecom sector it is developing next-generation messaging solutions, he said.

In South Asia, the company has extended its footprint into new territories such as Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, with several new mobile telecoms and financial services customers.
