Rupee extends losses
MUMBAI,
FEB. 10.
Shrugging off early gains, the rupee today dropped by another four paise and hit a new two-week closing low of 43.7750/7850 a dollar, pulled down by renewed heavy dollar demand from corporates and importers.
In choppy two-way trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened firm at 43.68/71 reflecting the dollar's overseas weakness, but later succumbed to hectic all round dollar demand to extend losses to the fifth straight session, dealers said. PTI
