India welcomes Palestine-Israel summit

NEW DELHI,
FEB. 10
. India said today that the February 8 Sharm-el-Sheikh summit between the leaders of Israel and Palestine, coming after a gap of about four years, was an important step in the resumption of the West Asian peace process and deserves the support of the international community.
"We have noted the encouraging statements of both leaders. However, a number of important issues remain to be addressed," the External Affairs Ministry spokesman said.
