KOTTAYAM, FEB. 10. `Samskruthy', a cultural organisation sponsored by the Congress, will hold its annual conference here on Saturday and Sunday, P.T. Thomas, MLA and chairman of the organisation, has said. Around 500 delegates from 63 `taluks' where the organisation has its branches would participate. Discussions on development and literary issues and talks by eminent personalities would be organised as part of the conference, Mr. Thomas said. The conference will be inaugurated by Tamil writer Neelapadmanabhan. C. Radhakrishnan, writer, and G. Karthikeyan, former Minister, are among those who will speak. D. Babu Paul, former Additional Chief Secretary, will deliver the keynote address at a symposium on Kerala Development. The literary debate on `Writers' Activism in Kerala Society' will have speakers including V. Madhusoodanan Nair, B. Murali, Abraham Mathew and Priya A.S. K.M. Chummar, Haji Ali Rowthar and Antony Vazhappally will be felicitated for their contribution to the library movement in the State. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will give away the awards. The valedictory function will be inaugurated by the former Chief Minister A.K. Antony. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president, Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, will preside.
