Western Railway retains title

NEW DELHI, FEB. 10. Western Railway beat Southern Railway 2-0 to retain the title in the Railway tennis championship at the DLTA Complex here on Thursday.

Central Railway overcame Eastern Railway 2-1 to finish third.

The results: Final: Western bt Southern 2-0 (Nitin Kirtane bt R. Manoj Kumar 6-1, 6-1; Vijayendra Laad bt T. Chandrasekharan 6-3, 6-0).

Third place: Central bt Eastern 2-1 (Siddharth Patil bt Anwar Ali 6-2, 6-2; G. Aniket lost to Siddharth Verma 1-6, 6-2, 4-6; Aditya Medkekar/Patil bt Vinod Sewa/Verma 6-1, 3-0 (conceded).
