CHENNAI, FEB. 10 . The Bharatiya Janata Pary will soon launch its second phase of agitation to demand the transfer of cases against the Kanchi Sankaracharyas to another State for trial. The State president, C.P. Radhakrishnan, told presspersons here today that with the release of the Acharyas on bail, the party's next move would be to seek the transfer of the cases. They would not get justice if the trial was conducted in Tamil Nadu, he said. Describing the Centre's move to distribute the subsidy to the tsunami-hit fishermen directly as interference in the State's powers, he said the subsidy should be routed through the State Government. The Centre did not sanction enough funds to the State for relief work. Alleging that some non-governmental organisations were indulging in conversion under the guise of executing relief works, Mr. Radhakrishnan wanted the State Government to keep a watch on their working. To prevent such "forcible conversion", the State Government should reintroduce the anti-conversion law. He also condemned the Goa Governor for installing a Congress Government in the State. While the former Chief Minister, of the BJP, was given just three days to prove his majority in the Assembly, the newly installed Congress Government was given a month's time. It was surprising that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Communist Parties were mute spectators to the "murder of democracy". The Centre's action only showed that the Congress had not changed its style of functioning.
