Around the City

Clear sky

Mainly clear sky with no significant change in temperature was forecast for Friday. Temperatures recorded on Thursday were a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius and minimum of 14 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was 28 per cent.

Buses diverted

Ten Metro buses of Route No.107V/R from L.B. Nagar to Secunderabad will run through Ameerpet, Vidyanagar, Ramnagar, VST, RTC crossroads and Boiguda because of the flyover construction at Adikmet. The buses will function at an average frequency of 15 minutes.

Seminar

The Simulator Development Division of the Army Training Command in Secunderabad is organising a national seminar on `Use of simulators in defence forces' on February 25. Senior officers of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Defence Research Organisations will participate in the meet.

Annual day

A classical ballet, patriotic songs and other dances marked the annual day celebrations of Gautami Vidya Dhamam School of S.R. Nagar held at the Satya Sai Nigamagam last week. The Director of the School, B. Siva Kumar, presented the school report and exhorted children to get inspired by the life and messages of the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Muharram meets

The Seerat-e-Zehra Committee will observe mourning meetings during Muharram from February 11 to 19 at Ibadat Khana-e-Hussaini, Darulshifa at 6.30 p.m. In a press release, Ali Raza, general secretary of the Committee, said Jaffer Ali would present "salam and marsiya" while Shaukat Ali Mirza would speak on the greatness of martyrdom.

French classes

Institut De Francais Association, Adarshnagar, has announced special French and German regular language classes from February 13. The 50-day classes will be held five days a week. The institute also offered one-month revision course for Intermediate and degree students of French language with special focus on grammar, translations and viva-voce exam.
