Pipeline repair work completed

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM, FEB. 10. Repair work on the 900 mm drinking water pipeline that developed a leak near Ambalamukku Junction a couple of days ago was completed at 9.30 p.m. today. According to Kerala Water Authority engineers, normal supply of drinking water to areas such as Pongumoodu, Sreekaryam, Manavila, Kulathur and parts of Nalanchira, which was disrupted Wednesday night owing to repair work, is expected to resume Friday morning.

Fire

Garbage heap and rubber scrap dumped by the Railways near the entrance of the second entry of the Central Railway Station on Power House Road caught fire around 11.30 a.m. on Friday. According to the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services, two units rushed to the spot and put out the fire.

Identity cards

The issue of identity cards to those residing in Kazhakkuttom, Thiruvananthapuram North, West and East Assembly constituencies, who recently enrolled their names in the voters' list, has started.

Relief material

The Air Force Wives Welfare Association, Southern Air Command, today distributed relief material valued at Rs. 2.5 lakhs to tsunami-hit children in Nagercoil.
