KOCHI, FEB. 10. Traffic on the National Highway 47 was disrupted for half-an-hour during peak hours this evening after a container truck broke down near Thykoodam Bridge. The brakes of the truck failed just ahead of the bridge. When the vehicle became immobile, the driver fled. The traffic police filed a case against him.
One held
In a related development, there were some tense moments at the tollbooth at Kundannur. The person manning the booth insisted on levying toll from all vehicles, when the police diverted the traffic along Kundannur Bridge to ease the traffic jam. When a policeman intervened, the person tried to manhandle him. The man was later arrested.
