Power shut down

COIMBATORE, FEB. 10. There will be a power shut down at the Periyanackin Palayam substation on February 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hence there will be no power supply at P. N. Palayam, Naickanpalayam, Kovanur, Koundampalayam, Jothipuram, Pres Colony, Chinnamadampalayam, Veerapandy No. 4, Malipalayam, Agragarasamakulam, Vellamadai, Koilpalayam, Kottaipalayam, Vayampalayam, Athipalayam, Keeranam , Idigarai, Sengalipalayam, N.S.N. Palayam, Poochiyur, Thoppampatti, Chinnathadagam, Pannimadai, Nanjundapuram, No. 24 Veerapandi, Mangarai, Anakatti.

Homam

Sree Dhanwanthari Mandir will conduct a Gayathri Homam on February 12 and Surutha Homam on the Ayurvedic Trust campus on 7102 Trichy Road, Ramanathapuram on February 13.

Special counter

The State Bank of India, R. S. Puram branch, will operate special counters for exchange of soiled and mutilated notes and distribution of coins on February 13 from 10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Demonstration

About 300 activists of the Coimbatore District Bank Employees Association staged a demonstration in front of the Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies here in response to a call by the Tamil Nadu Bank Employees Federation in protest against the closure of the Madurai City Cooperative Bank.

Bhajan

Maharishi Play School will conduct a Sai Bhajan on February 13 on its premises on Robertson Road, Near the Milk Supply Union in R. S. Puram.

Eye Camp

Moses Gnanabaram Eye Hospital will conduct a free eye camp at the Cooperative Bank in Sethumadai on February 13.

Competition

The Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science of V.L.B. Janakiammal College of Arts and Science will organise `Flavours 2005,' a national level intercollegiate competition on chef, cocktail, mocktail, flower arrangement, vegetable carving and `Ms and Mr. Hospitality 2005' on February 15.

Cultural event

The Nadabrahma Gana Sabha will conduct a cultural event at the Bhubaneswari Hall here on February 13. Carnatic vocal concert, violin mridangam and ghatam performances will be held.
