NEW DELHI, FEB. 10. Unpredictable seems to be the mood of the season with the weather oscillating between chilly mornings, sunny afternoons and rainy evenings. Crossing the normal for the season, the Capital today received a rainfall of 1.9 mm by 8-30 this evening. Though the weatherman had forecast light rain in some areas for Thursday, the sudden shower accompanied by lightning and thunder took many by surprise. According to the Met Department, western disturbances are responsible for the showers. "There is a system of western disturbances that is moving across North India. It is currently over Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and is moving in the north-easterly direction. It has been giving rain over all of North India. It is not a very strong system but is likely to bring more rain,'' said an official. The system is likely to bring more rainfall on Friday and a generally cloudy day is in store for the Capital.
