Cloudy day ahead

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB. 10.FEB. 10.FEB A generally cloudy sky with rain or thundershower in some areas awaits the city on Friday. There could be mist/ fog in the morning with the temperature likely to be around 13 degree Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperature at Safdarjung was 24.0 and 14.1 degree Celsius, while Palam recorded a maximum of 25.2 and a minimum of 13.2 respectively. A rainfall of 1.4 mm and a 1.9 mm was recorded at Safdarjung and Palam. While a maximum and minimum humidity of 100 and 44 per cent was recorded at Safdarjung, it was 99 and 41 per cent in Palam.

Lawyers plan stir

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB. 10.FEB. 10.FEB Lawyers of the Patiala House and Tis Hazari courts here in the Capital will abstain from the courts tomorrow (Friday) in protest against a reported move to transfer 12 courts to the Rohini district judicial complex in North-West Delhi.

The Co-ordination Committee of the Delhi Bar Association (DBA) of the Tis Hazari courts and the New Delhi Bar Association (NDBA) of the Patiala House courts said in a release that the move to transfer the courts was aimed at derailing the undergoing talks to resolve the issue of transfer of lower courts from the two above-mentioned district courts.

The Committee urged the Delhi High Court Chief Justice to intervene in the matter immediately to sort it out in an amicable manner.

Spurious shampoos seized

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB. 10.FEB. 10.FEB Spurious products of Hindustan Lever Limited worth Rs 3 lakhs were seized, and one person arrested from the Azad Market area of the Capital, police said.

Shampoo pouches and detergents bearing the brand names of the company were seized after a raid was conducted yesterday at a house on Shivaji Road in Pul Mithai area, based on a complaint. Police said 21,088 pouches of Sunsilk Black Shine shampoo, 900 pouches of Ariel Detergent, 1296 pieces of Godrej Ezee, 1820 of Chik shampoo and 100 of Clinic plus were recovered in the raid. A case has been registered against the 25-year-old accused Sanjay at the B.H. Rao police station. Further investigations were on.
