HYDERABAD, FEB 11. The proposed auto strike from February 14 has been dropped after the Transport and Traffic Police authorities held discussions with the joint action committee of auto-rickshaw unions here on Friday. According to the Joint Transport Commissioner, C.L.N. Gandhi, the Transport Department has promised to look into the fare hike demanded by the unions and would submit a report to the Government shortly. The decisions on other matters including the seizure of autos by the traffic police and Rangareddy district autos plying the city were that the cops would not seize the vehicles unless the violation was grave and that autos from the neighbouring district would be allowed to enter the twin cities if they were converted into the LPG mode. The Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tejdeep Kaur Menon, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), N. Suryanarayana and others were present at the meeting, Mr. Gandhi said.
