Man found

hanging

A priest, Mahmood (65) of NRR Puram in Borabanda was found hanging from the ceiling at a building under construction next to his house under the Sanjeevareddy Nagar police limits on Friday morning. The police believe that Mahmood had committed suicide. However, his son, Mohammed Hamed, was reported to have raised doubts about his father's death. A case of suspicious death was registered.

Found dead

The decomposed body of a person, identified as T. Gopal (25) of Pragnyapur of Medak district, was found in a culvert at Turkapally under the Shameerpet police limits on Friday morning. He had been missing since January 13.

Fake cops

rob two

Posing as CID officials, four persons made away with Rs. 34,000 from a Banglore-based person, Suresh Chand Mishra, under the Ramgopalpet police limits on Thursday. In his complaint, Mr. Mishra stated that the fake officials introduced themselves as CID sleuths and told him that they wanted to check his suitcase. Next, they engaged him in a conversation. Mr. Mishra opened the suitcase later and found the cash missing.

In a similar incident, one Srikanth was robbed of Rs. 10,000 cash by four persons who claimed to be policemen.

Salesman conned

Four persons, including three women, diverted the attention of a salesman in a jewellery shop at General Bazar in Secunderabad and walked away with two gold chains on Thursday. The police said that the miscreants entered the jewellery shop in the garb of prospective customers. A complaint was lodged with the Mahankali police station.

Cases against

12 students

The Yacharam police registered cases against 12 students of Asifjah Engineering College after the college juniors clashed with seniors over a petty issue on Friday.
