Both titles for Cuddalore

THANJAVUR, FEB. 12. Cuddalore bagged both the boys and girls' titles in the Tamil Nadu State mini inter-district basketball championship here on Friday. In the boys' final Cuddalore beat Chennai easily at 47-27, whereas the girls struggled hard before defeating Chennai 40-39 in a keenly contested final.

The results:

Boys: Final: Cuddalore 47 (Ramanathan 22, Ponnambalam 11) bt Chennai 27 (Kingsley 8). Third place: Sivagangai 55 (Ajithkumar 12, Aravindan 10) bt Tiruchi 51 (Aziskar 18, Ifthigar 12).

Girls: Final: Cuddalore 40 (Sheetha 12, Kanimozhi 10) bt Chennai 39 (R. Bhuvaneswari 12).

Third place: Erode 26 (Vasuki 12) bt Salem 24 (Indra Priadharshini 12).
