KHAMMAM, FEB. 12. A gram panchayat employee, Goniganti Mohan Rao (30), was shot dead by the Maoists in Gopalraopet village of Manuguru sub-division on Friday night. According to reports, he was killed on the outskirts of the village. Mohan Rao was branded a police informer by naxalites.
Post master abducted
KARIMNAGAR: Maoists abducted a branch post master of Bornala village in Raikal mandal, Goniganti Mohan Rao (30), last night. According to the police, three armed naxalites went to his house and took him away, telling his wife that they would let him off after gathering some information from him.
Businessmen panicky
Adilabad: Tension is running high in Tamsi mandal headquarters village after five businessmen received extortion notices purportedly drafted by the Maoists. The letters demanding Rs. 50,000 from each were received by post on Friday afternoon.
