PONDICHERRY, FEB. 13. A large number of devotees witnessed the consecration of the Sankeswar Paraswanath Jain temple located on Anna Salai here today. The temple was constructed at a cost of Rs 1 crore by the Pondicherry-based Paraswanath Swetamber Moorthi Poojar Jain Trust. The Acharyas Srimad Vijay Sushil Sureswarji and Vijay Jinnottam Sureswarji Maharaj blessed the devotees. The legislators A.M. Krishnamoorthy and R. Siva were present. Nagesh Sait, a Trust spokesperson, said devotees from different parts of the country thronged the shrine where special arrangements were made to regulate the crowd. The Lt. Governor, M.M. Lakhera, and the Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, offered prayers on Saturday on the eve of kumbabishekham.
