Manipur CM's security party attacked

GUWAHATI, FEB. 13. Militants attacked a road opening party (ROP) of the Manipur Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh, at Okshou under the Lamlai police station limits in Imphal District today.

Police said that none of the India Reserve Battalion personnel who came under the attack was injured, though the gun battle lasted about 15 minutes. The militants fled the scene.

The incident occurred at around 9. 30 a.m. half an hour before the Chief Minister was scheduled to pass through the area to Maphou Dam in Imphal East district. Mr. Singh later went to the dam site.
