MANILA (PHILIPPINES), FEB. 14. Three bomb blasts jolted the Philippines on Monday, killing at least six persons and injuring dozens, police said. In Thailand, violence continued with two bombs exploding in Narathiwat province's Joh I Rong district. The blasts wounded 10 persons, including a deputy district police chief, a defence volunteer, soldiers and policemen. The Muslim extremist group Abu Sayyaf claimed responsibility in a call between the explosions in the Philippines. One blast, outside the Gaisano Mall in southern General Santos city, could be heard 2 km away esses said. Police said at least three persons were killed and at least 28 others injured. Another bomb injured five persons when it went off almost simultaneously at a bus terminal in Davao, also in the southern Philippines, home to a restive Muslim minority. The third bombing was reported soon afterward on a bus that burst into flames along Manila's busy highway. Police said three persons were killed.
