GUNTUR, FEB. 14. The Vijayawada-based accused in the Euro lottery case, Kola Venkata Krishnamohan, was arrested in Rajahmundry and brought to Guntur on Monday in connection with a cheating case. The Arundelpet police arrested Krishnamohan following a complaint by a woman, D. Nagamani, that she was cheated by a fiancé company which promised her manager post by taking Rs.1.21 lakhs as caution deposit and fee to process VISA papers, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, M. Ravindra Babu, said at a press conference here on Monday.
Bank transactions
The Guntur police, led by the Circle-Inspector, J. Bhaskara Rao, pursued a clue that she had deposited the amount twice in a bank account and found out that it belonged to one Ch. Satyanarayana in Rajahmundry. Other transactions in the account led the police to the information that the amount was allegedly transferred to K.V. Krishnamohan, who in turn had drawn it in Rajahmundry from an ATM. On Sunday the police nabbed Satyanarayana in Rajahmundry after obtaining his photograph from the bank records. During interrogation they could get the Krishnamohan's address. Both the accused were arrested last night in Rajahmundry and would be produced in court, he said. "Kola Krishnamohan is accused in five cases in Vijayawada, two cases in Visakhapatnam and one in Adilabad," he said.
