Vaas to play for Worcestershire
LONDON,
FEB. 15.
Worcestershire County Cricket Club has agreed to a two-month deal with Sri Lanka's pace bowler Chaminda Vaas for the start of the summer season, it was announced on Tuesday morning.
Vaas, whose move is subject to clearance from the Sri Lankan Board, will cover for Shoaib Akhtar of Pakistan, who will arrive at New Road on July 1, it was added.
Tom Moody, Director of Cricket for Worcestershire County said, "His style of bowling will ideally suit the playing conditions during the early part of the season. As a left-arm swing bowler, he will complement the rest of our attack." — P. Subramanyam
