KOLLAM, FEB. 15. The All-India Mahila Samskarika Sankatana (AIMSS) has called for a fresh probe into the death of the Kottiyam sex scandal victim, Shiney. In a statement here today, the State secretary of the AIMSS, Shyla K. John, said that the investigation conducted so far in the case raises several questions. She said that the situation was rendering the investigations controversial and hence a fresh probe was needed. The fact that Shiney, 14, continued to be exploited sexually even after the registration of a case for the same only serves to expose the failure of the police to extend due seriousness to the issue. Such an attitude on the part of the police will lead to serious social repercussions, she added.
