Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Supreme Court directive to the CBI to file the evidence on the basis of which it closed the criminal case against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the Taj Heritage Corridor scam is significant. The fact that the decision was taken without the permission of the court despite the pendency of the case may put the UPA Government and the CBI in a fix. The Government has to clarify its stand on the decision that lacked transparency.
Sir, The Court's intervention is a blow to the Government. Whatever the Congress-led Government's intentions, realising them seems to have become a wee bit difficult now.
