Bio-diesel engine for passenger car

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, has developed a passenger car engine which runs on bio-diesel. ``IIT Delhi has developed a bio-diesel engine with significant modifications in the existing Indica diesel engine, which will be brought out for the use of the masses within the next few years,'' M. K. Gajendra Babu, Head of Department, Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi, said here. He said IIT Delhi would have some arrangement with Tatas in the near future so that by the time bio-diesel fuel was made available for mass consumption, the engine-run passenger cars were also introduced in the market. — PTI
