Railway Budget on February 26

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, FEB. 15. With the Budget session of Parliament due to begin on February 25, the first three days will see a packed schedule — the President's address to the joint session of Parliament on February 25, the presentation of the Railway Budget and the Economic Survey the next day, and the Union Budget on February 28.

And, of course, the day before the general Budget will witness the counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana, following which hectic political activity and the task of government formation would take place.

Officially the date for the Railway Budget has not yet been announced, but reliable sources have indicated that the very idea of keeping a session on Saturday was to enable the presentation of the Railway Budget before the Union Budget as is normally done.
