HYDERABAD, FEB. 15. Three Telugu Desam MLAs saw a "sinister design," behind the charges levelled by Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, son of the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, against some party leaders. Addressing a press conference, the TDP MLAs, D. Narendra Kumar, Narendra Reddy and Ramesh Kumar said it was not surprising that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy came up with such "wild charges" when the Assembly was about to take up discussion on the murder of their party colleague, Paritala Ravi. "He wants to prevent us from raising the issue in the Assembly," they said. They said they never thought that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and Congress leaders would stoop to the level of involving TDP leaders in Ravi's murder. If they had any evidence, they could pass it on to the CBI. They wanted the CBI to enquire why Srinivas, a police constable of AP Special Police Battalion had gone on leave and had met Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy in Bangalore. It should also probe why the Inspector-General of Police, R. P. Meena, kept talking to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy frequently.
