HYDERABAD, FEB. 15. The Majlis-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (MIM) staged a walkout in the Assembly on Tuesday when the motion to condole the death of former Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao, was taken up. They blamed him for the December 6, 1992, demolition of Babri Masjid.
`Deep wound'
Leading the walkout, MIM floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi, said by his act, Rao had inflicted a deep wound in the hearts of the Muslims in the country. If the Congress wanted to pay tributes to him in real terms, the party must keep his promise of rebuilding the mosque. He said the MIM would not support the motion. The MIM leader said Mr. Rao had left a "scar on the history of Indian secularism" by allowing the demolition. All the good deeds of Mr. Rao were brought to a nought by one bad doing, he said.
