KOZHIKODE, FEB. 15. The District Collector, Rachna Shah, has called on women to participate increasingly in rural development activities. Ms. Shah was speaking after inaugurating a meeting in connection with the launching of the micro housing loan project by the Social Agency for Women and Rural Development (Saward) and the Peruvayal branch of South Malabar Grameen Bank here on February 14. She said agencies such as Saward could play a key role in involving Kudumbasree self-help groups in social uplift, besides making the dream of owning a house a reality.
