Hindu College Founder's Day

NEW DELHI FEB.15. "Academic institutions should pick up projects of social relevance so that students learn to make a difference to the lives of others by reaching out to them. To begin with, residential areas could be adopted for environmental improvement and students could adopt roads to bring about a change," said Delhi's Lieutenant-Governor, B.L. Joshi, while inaugurating the 106th Founder's Day celebrations at Hindu College today.

Mr. Joshi said educational institutions should be sensitive to the changing needs of society and also to the aspirations of students. "The present-day education institutions need to constantly strive to learn, innovate and take creative initiatives to remain relevant."

The Lieutenant-Governor was presented a book on the history and achievements of Hindu College titled "In Retrospect".

Management seminar

NEW DELHI FEB.15. "Have the right attitude, differentiate yourself well, and continue to learn and deliver results.... these are some of the essentials that top management generally expects from young managers in addition to a `can do' attitude, simple good manners, and an ability to work well with others," said Ravi K. Sinha, former Managing Director of SRF Ltd., in his keynote address at the 36th Management Seminar organised by Bhavan's Management Group and MBA Department of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here this past Sunday.

Prof. D.J. Sandhu, Strategic Adviser to President UCFV, Canada, presented the international perspective that meshed well with the Indian view.

Dr. Shyam Vyas of the Bhavan MBA Department said even those who were "good" must continually try and better themselves.
