Gannavaram airport recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 19.0 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Humidity, which was recorded at 72 per cent in the morning, fell to 39 per cent in the evening.

No power

Power will be shutdown for consumers in Krishna Lanka section for repair work from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. The following areas will be affected: Tarakaramanagar, Bhupeshguptanagar, Policy Colony, Doordarshan staff quarters surroundings, Satyanarayananagar, Kalanagar, Isaka quarry surroundings, VBM college surroundings, Gulabithota, Raghu Road, Swasanala Road, Tagurivariveedi, Sivaparvathinagar, Eenadu Colony, Tadigadapa and Yanamalakuduru.

MP's plea

The Vijayawada MP, Lagadapati Rajagopal, has urged officials to revoke the decision to ban the entry of heavy vehicles into the city.

He said in a statement on Tuesday that no other city in the world had such restrictions.

Rellis' appeal

Members of the Andhra Pradesh Relli Kula Sanshema Seva Sangam submitted a memorandum to the APCC Scheduled Caste Department Chairman, N.M. Ramulu, on Tuesday. The sangham asked for due share to their community in nominated posts and in allotment of tickets in municipal elections.
