BPCL LPG bottling plant opened

VIJAYAWADA, FEB.15. The Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) inaugurated the company's Bharat Gas LPG plant here on Tuesday.

The Vijayawada LPG bottling plant, spread in an area of 20 acres, was built at a cost of Rs 22.5 crores. The plant has an installed capacity of 44 TMT (thousand metric tones) per annum and can bottle 5.4 lakh cylinders a month. Built with state-of-the-art technology, the plant meets the stringent OISD norms for safety. The plant has the facilities to receive the bulk LPG by pipeline from Visakhapatnam port, which is the safest way of transporting bulk LPG and works out cheaper also.

The Vijayawada LPG bottling plant will cater to the requirements of eight revenue districts of Krishna, Khammam, Guntur, West Godavari, East Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam.

This plant also renders support to Rural Marketing Vehicle in Kallur/Enkur in Khammam district and Vatsavai in Krishna district, which cater for the needs of rural markets.

With the commissioning of the Vijayawada LPG bottling plant, the BPCL now has 44 such plants in the country, including three in Andhra Pradesh.
