Workshop

KOCHI, FEB. 15. The Culture and Heritage Department of Cusat will be organising a workshop on `Literature and other arts', in the university campus on February 24 and 25. The Vice-Chancellor of the Sree Sankara University of Sanskrit, K. S. Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the event. For details, call 2575180.

Agreement

The Cusat has reached an agreement with the American College, Dubai, for academic co-operation and exchange of B.Tech students. The agreement was signed by the Cusat Registrar, A. Ramachandran and the president of the American College, William J. Oberoi. With this, students from the college will get admission to the third semester of B.Tech in the academic year 2005-'06. The students will have to pay $ 4,000 as fee to Cusat. They too will get the B.Tech degree awarded by the university. The agreement is for 3 years.

Exhibition

Encephalo 05, the two-day inter-collegiate electronic exhibition organised by the Electronic Association of MES College, Marampally, concluded today. Forty electronic projects were on display at the exhibition.

Dictionary

Teachers should exhort students to use the dictionary, the Vice Chancellor of the M G University, Jancy James, said. She was speaking after releasing the seventh edition of Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, here today. The principal of the St Teresa's College, Sr. Tessa, accepted the first copy.

Protest

Residents of Panambukad have protested against the decision to shift the venue of the foundation-stone laying ceremony of the Vallarpadam international container transhipment terminal, from Vallarpadam to Wellington Island. The people of the area were looking forward to the function in the island, says a press release from Jaison Xavier, ward member.
