Woman's bid to kill children, self

A housewife, Malathi, allegedly attempted to kill her three children by giving them pesticide and tried to commit suicide by consuming the same in her house at Bandimet in Secunderabad. While the condition of the children who were admitted to Gandhi Hospital was said to be out of danger, Malathi was unconscious. Harassment for more dowry was said to be the reason behind the extreme step.

ASI booked

A case has been booked against the Uppal police station Assistant Sub-Inspector, Sharfuddin, and a constable, Bhoomaiah, following a complaint lodged by a youth accusing them of collecting

Rs. 200 to return his driving licence that was seized by them.

Detained

A 30-year-old woman, K. Manga Biwi, who allegedly attempted to board a Sharjah-bound flight with forged visa and travel documents was taken into custody by Immigration authorities at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here on Monday night.

Hoax bomb call

The staff of Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation located on Road No. 10 in Banjara Hills was sent into a tizzy when an anonymous person called up saying a bomb had been planted inside the bank on Tuesday night. It was found to be a hoax call.

Student ends life

A seventh class student, K. Raj Kumar, 13, committed suicide by hanging in his house at Jiyaguda under the Kulsumpura police station area on Tuesday. The victim was studying in Vidyaranya Model High School in Bheemnagar.

Cheating case against SI

The Banjara Hills police registered a cheating case against a police Sub-Inspector, P. Niranjan Reddy, following a complaint lodged by a farmer, B. Prakash Reddy of Banjara Hills, accusing the former of duping him to the tune of Rs. 15 lakhs.

He alleged that Niranjan Reddy took a loan of Rs. 15 lakhs from him and threatened him when asked to clear the amount.
