BANGALORE, FEB. 15. The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Shivajinagar, Katta Subramanya Naidu, has opposed a proposal of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) to levy an annual cess of Rs. 50 on two-wheelers, Rs. 100 on three wheelers and Rs. 300 on four-wheelers in the city. The collection of cess every year will be a difficult task and the BMP will have to spend huge amounts on it, said Mr. Subramanya Naidu in a statement. He suggested that instead the BMP initiate action against property tax evaders and the people who have not had their property assessed for tax.
