TUMKUR, FEB. 16. A Lokayukta team on Wednesday arrested two of six schoolteachers who are said to have secured jobs by producing fake testimonials. Sources in the Lokayukta's office here gave the names of the arrested teachers as B.C. Narasimhaiah, working at the Government Primary School in Badagarahalli in Turuvekere taluk of the district, and N. Suresh, a teacher at the Government Primary School at D.V. Halli near here. A Lokayukta team on Tuesday detected six cases of primary school teachers having secured jobs by producing fake testimonials. They were checking the records at the office of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (South) here since Monday. A spokesman of the Lokayukta gave the names of the other accused as T.S. Siddeswar from Rangayyanapaly; R. Rangaiah from Ramaiahnahalli; Sarojamma from Kora, all in Tumkur district; and Vijayakumar from Anchipura in Nanjangud taluk in Mysore district. The Lokayukta has registered criminal cases against the accused and are on the lookout for the other accused. The sources said that investigations into the involvement of officials who recruited these teachers is in progress. The department is also interrogating all officials concerned with the teachers' recruitment.
