DAVANGERE, FEB. 16. Tanvir Sait, Minister of State for Labour, has said that the coalition Government in the State has performed well for the past eight months. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Sait said that the Government has been highly responsive to the problems of the people. When asked about the on-going clash between the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, B. Janardhana Poojary, and the Hassan MP and former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, Mr. Sait said that they should not create confusion by issuing statements against each other. They should keep their personal differences aside to enable the Government to perform better, he said.
Surprise
The Minister expressed surprise over Mr. Deve Gowda's remarks that he had not addressed the Chief Minister disrespectfully and asked if the media had reported it wrongly. He said that those who were not a part of the Government, irrespective of their position, should not comment about it and create confusion in the administration. Mr. Sait gave a cheque for Rs. 1 lakh to the parents of the child labourer Tahir Ali who died recently at a puffed rice factory.
