Chennai teams rule the roost
CHENNAI,
FEB. 16.
Chennai boys and girls claimed the titles in the State junior throwball championship, conducted jointly by Chennai District Throwball Association and Universal Sports Foundation, at the Hindu SSS here recently.
K. Ramesh (Kancheepuram) and K. Vandhana Raj of Virudhunagar were adjudged the best players in the boys' and girls' sections respectively.
C. Sylendra Babu, Joint Commissioner of Police, gave away the prizes.
The results:
Boys: Final: Chennai bt Tiruvallur 13-15, 15-5, 15-6; Semifinals: Chennai bt Tiruchi 15-4, 15-6; Tiruvallur bt Kancheepuram 15-5, 15-7.
Girls: Final: Chennai bt Tiruvallur 15-4, 15-13; Semifinals: Chennai bt Virudhunagar 15-1, 15-3; Tiruvallur bt Tiruchi 3-15, 17-16, 16-14.
