HYDERABAD, FEB. 16. Customers of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, who have water meters installed by the board on their premises, are being offered free repairs for the meters. The free repair offer is for meters bearing serial numbers prefixed by `00' or `01' of Schlumberger/Actaris make and which are covered by the annual maintenance contract (AMC). Interested customers can contact the Board on the following telephone numbers for repairs: 1916 (Metro Customer Care) and 55519041 (Single Window Cell). On receipt of information from the customer, the board will send its personnel to collect the meters that will be re-installed after repairs, within 15 days. The board has asked customers to avail themselves of the offer in view of the penalty for defective meters. The offer is valid only up to March 31. For customers, whose meters are not covered by the AMC can get their defective meters repaired on payment of required charges by calling the above mentioned telephone numbers, according to a release.
